Winged Among the Mushrooms Upcycled Vintage Bobbin

This transformed industrial wooden bobbin stands 11¼ inches tall and 5 inches wide, preserving the character of its working past while inviting a softer, woodland story. The wooden top and base frame an exposed metal core once meant to connect to machinery, now softened by layers of age and art. The spool is wrapped in warm tan decoupage layered with faded script, creating a backdrop reminiscent of old letters and timeworn pages.

At its center rests a winged nymph, her delicate wings unfurled, and her hair adorned with berries and greenery. Mushrooms and wood nuts appear throughout the piece, grounding her firmly in forest lore. Three sculpted mushroom forms anchor the base, giving the piece a sense of place—like a clearing where something quiet and magical has chosen to remain. A length of vintage lace trails down the spool, adding a soft contrast to the industrial wood bobbin and echoing the passage of time. Winged
